He became involvement in protests against fee hikes, library funding cuts, hostel shortages, increased electricity and water charges and dress and time restrictions on university students. Following the introduction of new fee structure in 2017, MGCU became the one of the most expensive public university of India. He held the view that public university should not be act like private or for - profit institutions. He started the protest for complete withdrawal of increment in fee for new academic year. The university administration is answerable to the Central Government of India.  MGCU students started protest on 2 June 2018 demanding fulfilment of their various demands against university administration. Students accused VC of arbitrariness, students said that the assurances given to them after their protests on 11 November 2017 were not completed.
